Echor

I think Echor is Echo's alter ego, because he gave himself that name. How weird is that? Whenever I ask him 'Who's a pretty bird?' he says 'Echor', it's hilarious.

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd show a couple pictures of Echo and a 3 minute video, if it ever uploads (it's taking ages, good thing I can edit the rest of my post in the meantime). The first picture was taken a few days ago when he got a hold of Sean's crystal. He LOVED it, petting and scratching his head with it, it was so cute.

The funny part is he was extremely hyper and flying around like a mad bird before landing on the table and finding his new treasure, then once I put him back on his cage with it he became super calm. I don't know much about crystals but he'll be getting his own, that's for sure :P

The ones below were taken this evening :)

A little video of Echo being super cute, not talking though, he's still camera shy. Don't mind the mess in the background!

Wisdom Teeth

I got my wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday, not fun. What an experience, lol. Yay for laughing gas! I could slightly feel the surgeon pulling at my teeth but I really didn't care ;) My mouth is still very sore, I can't wait to get back to normal. I did get chipmunk cheeks, which was pretty funny. I took a picture for my little brother, who probably can't wait to make fun of me, but there is no chance that I'll be posting it on here, haha!

I've been home for 5 days now, I've been mostly reading, playing games on the computer and listening to music. And complaining about my sore face. I've been reading the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, very good story. Very morbid, sadistic and just "Wow! I can't believe he actually wrote that, that's sick!!" but very good.

I finished the second out of eleven (I think?) books in french not long ago, but since I'd like to start reading epubs instead of paperback I've switched to english, so I started reading the first book again. I'm glad I did since the terminology is very different in both languages.

I've been listening to Hol Baumann's "Human" for the past two days, so good. He reminds me a lot of Trentemoller, which I am madly in love with. Yay for good music! :)

Sean's the one who told me about him, I'm glad he did.

And since I've had so much time on my hands, I'm been watching Les Moomins (Mumintroll in Sweden), in french, of course. Whenever I don't feel good I tend to watch my favorite cartoons/movies I used to love as a kid. Ok maybe not always when I don't feel good, but those are the times when I enjoy it the most :) Moomins are little trolls, the books were published in Finland. It was eventually made into a tv show. So cute (:

Well it's time for soup (ugh), thanks for visiting :)

Ibiza, Spain (2011)

I went to Ibiza in July, and not only did I drink very tasty wine, dance until dawn at the legendary Amnesia and get a wicked tan on the beach, I got to absorb the beauty of the island, eat the most amazing sushi and watch the sunset at Cafe Del Mar :) It was the most amazing birthday!

Three lifers

Well we did find two out of four birds I wanted to see, plus a bonus! After driving about three hours we reached John Inmans' house where the red-headed and red-bellied woodpeckers and white-winged dove have been spotted for a week now. It looks like the young red-headed has settled in :) The lighting was terrible yesterday so I had to shoot with high ISO, nothing sharp unfortunately, but still very happy I got to see it for about an hour.

The dove showed up for a few minutes but was being very cautious, I was only able to snap one decent shot. This dove is not from this area, AT ALL, so it was very exciting!

The red-bellied didn't show while we were there, but I'm confident that I'll eventually get to see one this winter, there's been many sightings so far. I was very bummed that the prothonotary warbler didn't show and I really hope the little bird made it. It's getting very cold.

A nice bonus : we got to see a few beautiful ring-neck pheasants. I'm very happy with my day :)
