Trying to keep moving

This summer has been pretty good so far, having a good time with friends around a bon fire most weekends, went for a few road trips, saw a bit of wildlife and went skydiving, of course.  Here are a few pictures of my summer so far :)

Helped what I think is a snapping turtle cross the road.

Took random pics of random kitties.

Took shots of flowers I received 'just because' :)

Went on a road trip with my brother.

Went to the cottage to have a lobster boil with my family.

We also ate raw oysters, so good :)

Hung out with Echo bird bird.

Went on a couple road trips with Sean.

And saw a ton of moose!  I saw 5 in about 5-6 weeks, very unusual.

And I was flying like a bird! Really!

I had been thinking about it for a couple of years now and was planning on doing it last summer, but with my trip to Europe I really couldn't afford it.  So this summer, I did it.  Did what?  Well, jump out of a plane, of course!!! :)

My friend TerryLynn joined me on my adventure, she had already gone skydiving once two years ago and once you jump, you are automatically addicted.

John and Mike were our tandem instructors, TerryLynn jumped with John and I jumped with Mike.  Here's picture of the four of us before boarding the ridiculously small plane :)

So stoked!!  It was so tight in there, only six of us can fit including the pilot.

This is Serge, the owner of Skydive Moncton.  He's the one who took my pictures.  He's pretty awesome :)

This is shortly before jumping, VERY HIGH!!!

Mike giving me instructions for the last time.  I don't even remember doing what I was told when the time came to jump, the adrenaline took over my brain!  I wasn't nervous at all before boarding the aircraft, inside the aircraft or even when we were getting ready...

... until the door flung open!  My heart just about stopped!  Am I really doing this???

Seconds before the jump, putting one foot on the 'leg' of the aircraft (where the wheel is, not sure what it's called).  I love how TerryLynn and John are watching me through the window lol!

Ok let's do this!  Ready, put your head back and....

SKYDIVE!!!!

And I'm flying!!

10,000 feet baby!!!

This is what happens when people tell you you're crazy, you do it and have the time of your life!

Having a nap on my head, haha!

This was the highlight of the jump. I looked down and Serge was on his back facing me and was suddenly dropping very fast directly underneath me, getting further and further away and saluting goodbye!  Mike's parachute was starting to open so him and I were actually slowing down!  Seeing Serge drop so fast like that reminded me that we were not flying, we were falling at 120mph!  What a rush!!!

The next 4 photos were taken within a second or two.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once the parachute opened, the whole experience went from adrenaline rush to sitting calmly in the sky, looking around and hearing nothing but the wind.  Mike let me control his parachute for a bit, so much fun!

The free fall lasted about 40 seconds and the parachute ride was 4-5 minutes.  The whole thing went by way too fast, I wanted to do it all over again!

Thanks for the ride Mike, you rock!!!!

Here comes TerryLynn, feet all ready for landing :)

Whoooo!! We did it!!
Thanks so much Serge for the amazing photos!!!

Can't wait to do this all over again!
